BIO

I am a largely self taught artist currently working in oils on canvas and paper having produced much work in acrylics. I come to painting from an extremely mixed life and employment background ranging from airman in the Royal Air Force, labourer, life guard, barman, handyman, furniture shop manager, traveller, actor, director, poet, and for 20 years, teacher of English and Drama in London and two years in Zambia, Africa.

I am exploring the human condition currently through the stylistic ground between realism and expressionism with pieces sometimes charged with incongruous elements and sometimes subtly or overtly political. Everything is and always will be, a work in progress,
